Taurus and Maxxis have announced a strategic agreement that brings together the potential of both brands with a clear objective: to provide drivers and teams with a high-performance solution that maintains the level of excellence with which both companies have entered the world of Rally Raid.
On one side, Taurus has established itself as the most competitive vehicle in the Challenge category of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). Over the past three years, Taurus vehicles have demonstrated remarkable sporting dominance, becoming the car with the highest number of stage wins within the category. This performance is particularly evident at the Rally Dakar, where Taurus has secured three consecutive victories and achieved eight of the nine possible podium finishes at the top of the category. In addition, the team currently holds the world championship title.
As part of this new agreement, all Taurus vehicles leaving the factory in the Netherlands will be equipped as standard with Maxxis Razr Plus tires, a product specifically developed for the extreme demands of Rally Raid competition.
Maxxis has also made a strong entrance into the discipline. The brand debuted at the Rallye du Maroc, immediately reaching the podium with the duo Nicolás Cavigliasso and Valentina Pertegarini driving a Taurus Evo Max. Later, at the Rally Dakar, Maxxis once again achieved a podium finish with a third place.
These results become even more significant considering that only 18% of the vehicles in the Challenge and SSV categories were competing on Maxxis tires, while the brand managed to secure 46% of the podium finishes in those categories.
The agreement between Taurus and Maxxis goes far beyond simply fitting tires to the vehicles. Both companies have established a joint testing and development program, aimed at optimizing the vehicle’s overall performance. Recently, testing sessions have been carried out in Barcelona and Portugal with a strong focus on improving suspension setup, vehicle balance, and tire adaptation to different rally conditions.
In addition, Taurus will include the Maxxis Razr Rally Raid Plus tires in its exclusive customer e-shop, maintaining the official price list developed by the brand. All Taurus users will also gain access to the Maxxis Tire Service, present at key events such as BP Rally Portugal, the Desafío Ruta 40 in Argentina, and other competitions where Maxxis provides technical support.
This collaboration represents much more than a commercial agreement: it is the union of two brands sharing a common vision focused on excellence in motorsport and customer service. Taurus will continue to offer its recognized real-time spare parts delivery system for teams and drivers, while Maxxis strengthens its presence with a professional service structure, transparent pricing, and free delivery across Europe for its Rally Raid program.
The partnership between Taurus and Maxxis marks a new step in the evolution of Rally Raid, combining engineering, development, and competitive experience to further raise the level of the category.
